Class Descriptions
Creative Movement (ages 3-4) - Children will learn the basics of movement
coordination, and musicality in a fun, creative environment.  They will also begin to explore
rhythm through tap dance basics.

Kindergarten – Children begin to learn basic tap and ballet vocabulary through
repetition and fun dance-based activities.

Ballet (1st grade-adult) – Dancers will learn classically-based ballet technique focusing
on proper execution of expanding vocabulary, placement, flexibility, strength, and grace.  

Pointe (5th-12th grades) – An extension of ballet, pointe takes experienced ballet
dancers a step further into the arena of professional ballet performance.   Dancers will
apply the mastery of their ballet training to the challenge of dancing en pointe.

Tap (3 years old-adult) – Dancers will be exposed to a variety of classical tap dance
styles including rhythm tap, clog, character, and Broadway tap as they explore changes in
tempo, complex rhythm patterns and syncopations, and an ever-growing tap dance
vocabulary.  

Jazz (3rd/4th Grade-adult) – This upbeat class will focus on strength, flexibility, and a
continuously expanding vocabulary of traditional and innovative jazz forms.  The energetic
nature of this class propels dancers into leaps, turns, and rapid progressions across the
floor!

Irish Step (5th-12th grades) – Dancers will discover the excitement of traditional Irish
Step dance through both soft and hard shoes.  They will learn a range of reels,
hornpipes, jigs, and slip jigs, as well as traditional set dances.
